How to make an appointment

The Practice is available between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday, and an emergency telephone service is available from the practice until 18:30 Monday to Friday. If you think you need to be seen or need to speak to someone, please call us or drop in and book an appointment. We operate a signposting system which means that staff taking your call may ask about the reason for your appointment request.  This is so you can be directed to the most appropriate person within the practice or you may even be referred to different service such as, the local Pharmacy, Optician or another care provider outside the practice.  Your appointment may not always be with a doctor, your issue may have been redirected to one of our Nurses or advice relayed to you via our Admin Team.

Our appointment system.

Wherever possible our practice will always try to offer appointments on the same day or within 24 to 48 hours.  You will first be offered a choice of a Telephone triage consultation with one of our Nurse Practitioners or one of the GP's, or a face to face appointment if you prefer..  Our system also allows us to communicate with patient's confidentially, so we are able to share text messages with you as well as share a facility to accept patients photographs direct to our system.. If the clinician feels you need to be seen, you will be offered a face to face consultation and asked to attend the practice.  Pre-bookable telephone appointments are available to book up to two weeks in advance. This can be done via the reception desk, email or telephone.

If you need an emergency doctors appointment on the same da, you cannot choose who you see,  it will be the emergency doctor for that day. Please call from 08.00 each morning if you think you need an emergency appointment. If your problem is not an emergency for that day, you will be offered a pre-bookable telephone triage appointment instead.

Please Note: Our staff are operating under the instructions of the Doctors. The doctors are aware that the staff are asking you questions if you call for an emergency appointment and have approved this in order to maintain an effective emergency system. Please understand this and be courteous to our staff who are only following procedures. Please also bear in mind that all our calls are recorded and we operate a zero tolerance policy on patients being abusive or aggressive towards our staff.
